Day #8 of 21 Days to Disciplined Writing

Good morning. This is day #7, a full week into the 21 Days to Disciplined Writing.

For today's mission-

  • Congratulate yourself by way of a letter.

  • Write a letter celebrating YOU.

  • If you have trouble finding something to celebrate, congratulate yourself for making it this far in life - That is something to toast.

When done with the letter, write on the top "For the low days." Because, they will come. Low days. Days when everything goes wrong and you can't seem to get happy. You will save this letter and read it on those days.

Okay…here I go. "For the low days."

Dear Carol Anne,

I am proud to call you my friend. I am proud of all that you have accomplished and even those things you have not. I appreciate you every day and I especially appreciate who you are. By the way. Did you know you are one great traveler? You have seen almost every state in the United States and you have been in Mexico, Canada and the Bahamas. You have seen Grand Canyon, the Grand Tetons, Arcadia National Park, Niagra Falls and the very tip of Texas. You have car camped and motel’d it across the country with only Alaska and the state of Washington left. Sure you haven’t been to Europe or the far east but what the heck. What you have done is great. Way to go girl!

Graduate school, on the other hand, was one of the bigger mistakes of you life. Not that graduate school is bad, just the one you chose didn’t work for you. Oh well! You are better for it. You have taken those lemons and turned them into lemonade.

There are also times when you have felt some self-doubt and indecision. But sweetie, those days are a thing of the path. You have a clear vision and a complete knowing of where you are going and what you are doing. What is great about this is that you seem to be simpatico with all things in life. No matter who or what comes into your life, you manage it with grace and ease. And that is a real trick sometimes. What the heck, we are all doing the best we can and there is no doubt about that! Generosity goes a long way and you know that one for sure.

The best thing you have done is to have Katie and Maggie. Katie is a little lost right now but she will come around. Just remember that she loves you no matter what. Maggie is doing really well and even has a little one of her own. Bella is a by-product of the good you have done. Isn’t that amazing, to have a little one who is full of love and life? Lucky you!

Just remember to say I love you to yourself every day. Not every day will be carved out perfectly but every day is a good day to say I love you. And, if you have a chance, say I love you to someone nearby. I know you know how to do that so go after it girl!

Love,

ca
